Rejuvapen™ Micro Needling
The Rejuvapen™ is a micro needling treatment that stimulates the collagen and elastin in your skin. As a result, your skin becomes firmer and regains its elasticity. Fine lines and wrinkles are visibly reduced, pores become finer, circulation is stimulated, and the overall condition of the skin is improved.
Does it hurt? What will I expect it to feel like?
Before treatment, a topical anesthetic cream is applied to the treatment area. The anesthetic cream numbs the skin and makes the treatment very comfortable. You may experience some sensitivity, particularly around the eyes and on the forehead.
What should I expect?
Most patients look as though they have a moderate to severe sunburn and the skin may feel warm and tighter than usual. This is normal and will subside after 1 to 2 hours. Most patients usually recover within 24 hours or less. Your practitioner will recommend a Rejuvapen™ approved post-procedure skincare product or recovery kit.
How many treatments are recommended?
The number of treatments required will be determined by each individual’s treatment goals and the condition of the skin. It is recommended for most patients to start with a series of 4 treatments spaced about 4 weeks apart. For patients with deep wrinkles, advanced photo-aging, stretch marks or acne scars it is recommended to receive 6-8 sessions at 4-6 week intervals.
We also recommend developing a maintenance plan to help maintain the glow and rejuvenating effects of your personalized Rejuvapen™ treatments.
How long do the results last?
Although you will notice healthier looking skin in the first week after treatment, the natural repair process of your own skin continues to progress over the course of several weeks. Keep in mind that dermal collagen remodeling takes place over time so it is not realistic to expect damage that has occurred over an extensive period of time to disappear immediately. That is why we will wait a full month between treatments. Significant stretch marks, scarring and pigment problems may require multiple treatments.
